Medication may be prescribed when it is considered appropriate and can be an effective tool in managing certain mental health conditions. Megan will carefully evaluate each client’s situation and collaborate with them to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. In addition to medication, Megan also incorporates the use of supplements and lifestyle recommendations to support mental health and overall well-being. These complementary approaches can play a vital role in promoting healing and achieving optimal results.

Psychiatric-Mental Health Evaluation - Extended
The initial psychiatric consultation marks the first step in the treatment process. During this appointment, a comprehensive assessment of both physical and mental health will be conducted. This includes reviewing current symptoms, personal/family/social history, physical health concerns, and treatment goals. We will also explore lifestyle factors, stressors, and other relevant information to fully understand the client’s unique needs. Typically, laboratory tests are ordered, and the results are reviewed in a follow-up appointment. It's common that new medications and supplements are not prescribed during the initial visit.

Psychiatric-Mental Health Follow-up
Typically, the first follow-up appointment after the initial psychiatric consultation takes place 1 to 3 weeks after the initial evaluation and lasts for 60 minutes. During this session, we review laboratory test results and continue to develop a personalized treatment plan. Follow-up appointments thereafter are 20-60 minutes, depending on need, and allow us to make necessary adjustments to the treatment approach and address any new developments or concerns.
